Here is Paw’s first training session.
I start all of my dogs the same way. Which is to say, I don’t really start with any formal training at all.
Instead, we spend the first few days simply getting to know one another and settling into a routine.
Think about it from the dog’s perspective. His entire life has changed in an instant. Suddenly, there are new people, new dogs, unfamiliar surroundings, different expectations, and countless other variables that we probably don’t even think about.
That’s an enormous amount to take in, and I think it’s important to give dogs the time and space to make sense of their new world before we start asking things of them.
Paw is doing an amazing job. He’s incredibly people-oriented and clearly enjoys human companionship. While he hasn’t shown much interest in playing with the other dogs, he gets along fabulously with them. He’s settling into our routine beautifully and already making himself right at home.
Now all Paw needs is a family to call his own.
This special guy is looking for a loving home where he can spend the rest of his life. He’s available for adoption through Clearlake Animal Association
Please share and help Paw find his people!
