On October 9, we are partnering with the City of Santa Rosa, California to host a free community meeting to walk residents through what's actually on the 2026 Municipal Election ballot, in plain language, with time for your questions.

BRIDGE Cohort 4 is officially here! 🌉

Yesterday, 25 amazing fellows kicked off Session 1: Nonprofit Governance 101 + Organizational Sustainability, diving into fiduciary duty, governance models, and what it takes to lead with integrity on a nonprofit board or public commission.

We’re so grateful to our guest panelists for sharing their time and real talk with this new class: Andres Correa, Neal Ramus, Kathy Kane, Betzy Picazo Chávez, and Samantha Rodriguez. Thank you for showing up for our fellows & sharing your experiences.

Thank you also to our instructors for the day, Claudia C. Morales, Lorez Bailey, and Juan Lopez. Your knowledge and energy set the tone for this whole cohort. ❤️

Our community needs more teachers who look like the students they'll teach — and Sonoma State's Teacher Residency Program is one way to get there.

Residents can receive up to $30,000–$35,000 in stipends while completing their credential, with additional scholarships available for parent-scholars. In return, residents commit to teaching in a high-need California school after the program.

It's a real path into the classroom, with real support along the way.

How should transportation funding be invested in Sonoma County?

The Sonoma County Transportation and Climate Authorities are requesting public feedback on draft recommendations for $118 million in transportation projects and programs.

Comments received through the survey will help inform the SCTCA Board's consideration of funding recommendations this September.

Over 200 people packed the room for Local Climate Action: Healing Land, Healing Communities. 🌱

We saw what it looks like when a community decides to do this work together — mobilizing young people and trusting them to lead, creating real pathways for farmworkers to be paid a livable wage for land they’ve stewarded for years, and centering indigenous ways of caring for this land as the blueprint, not an afterthought.

Three different stories. Same truth: this work only happens together.

Endless gratitude to our panelists — Dillon Williams, Aura Aguilar, and Eli Cordero — for showing up with heart and expertise. Thank you to Danny Chaparro for moderating and emceeing all morning, Manuel Gonzalez for translation, and Giselda Correa for her segment on somatic tools for climate anxiety. So grateful for yesterday mornings Charla at the Rohnert Park City Council Chambers with Marcella Piedra, the first Latina City Manager of Rohnert Park. 🎉

Marcella shared her story, her focus on community and equity, and her heart for the volunteers who keep Rohnert Park running. We talked about language access for Spanish-speaking families, youth engagement, and building a city where everyone feels welcome.

Thank you to everyone who came out to learn and connect, and a special thank you to Miriam Gomez from La Maquina Musical for bringing us the tastiest conchas! 🥐
