The year is wrapping up, and we’re celebrating the way we know best: together.

Our comunidad showed up again and again this year. Every program and gathering happened because of our volunteers, members, staff, partners, and friends. Now it’s our turn to say gracias.

Join us for the Los Cien Holiday Party: Noche de Gratitud, a free, family-friendly night at Sally Tomatoes in Rohnert Park.

On the menu: appetizers, music, karaoke, flip cup, and a decorate-a-puerquito contest.

BRIDGE Session 4: Commissions + Shark Tank Day 🦈

The morning was all about commissions: who appoints them, how they shape local policy, and how to actually land a seat. Fellows then took on role cards, from a bilingual advocate with no board experience to a qualified professional tired of being the “only one” in the room, and mapped each person’s path from application to appointment.

After lunch, the room turned into Nonprofit Shark Tank. Eight local organizations pitched their board openings in three minutes or less while Fellows rated each one on mission, skills match, growth, and board culture. Then 16 recruitment tables opened for the mixer, with one goal: leave with a follow-up meeting.

David Guhin started out in city government and worked his way up. About six months ago, he became Sonoma County Executive.

This morning he sat down with more than 35 Los Cien members and partners for our latest Charla, and folks came ready. They wanted to know about the building the county just bought, why permits through Permit Sonoma still take so long, and how the county plans to support families facing healthcare cuts under H.R. 1.

That’s what we love about Charlas. It’s a small room where you can ask the people in decision-making spaces what’s on your mind, and hear their answers firsthand.

2 weeks ago, our friends over at Sally Tomatoes fed our BRIDGE fellows: Katarina salad, broasted Brussels sprouts, red roasted new potatoes, BBQ chicken, BBQ tri-tip, and chocolate raspberry brownies. Those brownies did not last long.
