In the mood for a short road trip? The Santa Clara Valley Quilt Association is having their annual bag sale on Monday, July 27, from 10:00am until noon at the Campbell Community Center, 1 West Campbell Ave, Campbell.

They'll be in the Roosevelt Redwood Room, .

For $20, you can buy as much quilting cotton and other quilty items as can fit in a grocery bag, which we’ll provide. We expect to have on the order of 100 boxes of fabric, kits, patterns, books, and more. Open to all, so please bring your friends. You really aren’t going to want to miss this!

Did you know some quilters in Northern CA created the Bicentennial Quilt 50 years ago? It traveled the country, ending up as a donation at the International Quilt Museum.

Keep reading to learn about the Quilt and its role cataloging the stories of how history affected the makers. In an era where the administration is asking the National Park Service to remove American stories from walls and literature, it's important we remember the crafty ways makers have of encoding history.
