Petition/Petición, Tuesday Bellevue Union School Board at Kawana Springs Elementary

The Bellevue Union School District (Kawana Springs, Bellevue, Meadowview, Taylor Mountain Elementary Schools) still has not offered a contract that would meet what the teachers are asking for. https://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/330/597/784/ Please sign this petition in support of the teachers. It will be given to the School Board and the district Superintendent at this month's meeting, which will take place Tuesday, November 19th at 5:30 at Kawana! The school is at the end of Moraga on the right, and the meeting will be in the Multipurpose Room at the far south end of the building. There is parking across the street or nearby. Please come. You can sign a card before the meeting to go up and speak for up to three minutes- this is your chance to tell the School Board why you support our teachers in their demands for a living wage, more support for their health care expenses, and full-time counselors for the students of our district. You can also talk about whatever you want, such as things that you like or don't like about our schools. If you would like, you can wear "Red for Ed" to the meeting. Se la vamos a dar a la Junta y al Sobretendente en su reunión, este martes el 19 de Noviembre, a las 5:30 en Kawana. La escuela está ubicada al final de Moraga, en la derecha, y hay parqueo al otro lado de la calle y en el vecindario. La reunión estará en el Multipurpose Room en el lado sur del edificio. Por favor, vengan vestidos en rojo para decir "apoyo la educación." Antes de que empieza la reunión, Ud. puede firmar una carta blanca para poder hablar y dirigirse a la Junta. Ésta es su oportunidad de decirle a la Junta porque apoya a los maestros en sus demandas para un salario digno, más dinero para su cuidado de salud, y consejeros entrenados de tiempo completo para los estudiantes de nuestro distrito. También podría hablar de cualquier cosa que le gusta or que le molesta de nuestras escuelas. Una copia de la petición probablemente estará disponible para firmar cuando recogemos a los niños el martes (si mi hijo no se enferma antes), y ojalá afuera de la puerta antes de la reunión. Possible Teachers’ Strike
The Bellevue Union School District has not given a good new contract to the teachers of the district since 2015. The teachers of the 4 schools are asking for a living wage, more money for their health care, and full-time, experienced counselors instead of the current half-time counselors that each school currently has.
In the negotiations over the last year, the Bellevue Educators Association (BEA), which is the teachers’ union, has presented its demands, and the district responded last week with one low offer that the teachers rejected. If they have not reached an agreement, this Wednesday there will be an attempt at mediation. If the Board doesn’t offer a good contract, the teachers will go on strike in the early days of December.
We can help to prevent a strike. We have to pressure the Board and the Superintendent.
The next School Board meeting will be at Kawana Springs Elementary at 2121 Moraga Dr, on Tuesday November 19th at 5:30pm. If they have not reached an agreement, we will go dressed in red to say, Red for Ed(ucation)!
If you arrive early, you can sign a white card to register to speak up to 3 minutes during the public comment period. We can also call and write to Superintendent David Alexander and the School Board members to tell them that they have to offer a good contract to the teachers. You can bring your letter to the District office at 3150 Education Dr., Santa Rosa, CA 95407.

You could also.. Organize a protest outside of the district offices? We will see what is needed. We need to follow the teachers and do what they think is appropriate action to take.
If there is a strike, the teachers will have a picket line outside of the schools (and the district offices?) and will ask us to not bring or send our children to school. If we were to bring them, we would be opposing the teachers. We can go and show our support by: participating on the picket line, bringing food and drinks, and more.

Posible Huelga de Nuestros Maestros
El Distrito Escolar Bellevue Union (BUSD) no ha oferto buen contrato nuevo a los maestros del distrito desde 2015. Los maestros de los 4 escuelas están pidiendo un salario digno, más dinero para su cuidado de salud, y un consejero experimentado de tiempo completo en vez de medio-tempo para cada escuela.
En sus negociaciones durante el último año, la Asociación de Maestros Bellevue (BEA, o Bellevue Educators Association), que es la unión (sindicato) de los maestros, ha presentado sus demandas, y el distrito por fin respondió la semana pasada con una oferta baja que los maestros rechazaron. Si no han llegado a ningún acuerdo, este miércoles habrá otro atento a la mediación para llegar a un acuerdo. Si la Junta no ofrece buen contrato, los maestros van a salir en huelga en los días tempranos del Diciembre.
Podemos ayudar a prevenir una huelga: Tenemos que apresurar a la Junta y al Sobretendente. La próxima reunión de la Junta (School Board) tomará lugar en Kawana, 2121 Moraga Dr, martes el 19 de Noviembre, a las 5:30. Si no han llegado a un acuerdo, iremos vestidos en rojo para decir, Rojo para la Educación- “Red for Ed.” Si llega temprano, puede firmar una carta para registrarse para hablar hasta 3 minutos durante el período de comentario del público. Podemos llamar y escribir a David Alexander y a los miembros de la Junta para decirles que tienen que ofrecer un buen contrato a los maestros! O… ¿organizar una manifestación afuera de las oficinas? Ya veremos lo que los maestros creen que hay que hacer.
Si hay una huelga, los maestros tendrán una línea de piquete afuera de la escuela y nos pedirán no llevar nuestros hij@s a la escuela. Si los llevaramos, estaríamos oponiendo a los maestros. Podremos venir a mostrar nuestro apoyo por: participar en el piquete, traer comida y bebidas, y más.
