Neighbors helping neighbors. In a disaster, that’s going to be the reality. So it only makes sense to get to know the people who live in your neighborhood before an emergency happens.
We’re calling out the weekend of October 2-4 as a countywide opportunity to “Meet Your Street.” It’s easier than it sounds! First, pick a date and time to host your neighborhood event. Then, stop by our office to pick up a promo kit to help spread the word.
Your event can be as simple or as elaborate as you want. It’s limited only by your time, resources, and imagination.
For a simple event, put a few chairs in your driveway and invite your neighbors to bring their own beverage for an informal meet-and-greet. Want to do something bigger? Host a potluck in someone’s backyard or at a neighborhood park.

Vecinos ayudando a vecinos. En un desastre, esa será la realidad. Por eso, tiene sentido conocer a las personas que viven en tu vecindario antes de que ocurra una emergencia.
Estamos designando el fin de semana del 2 al 4 de octubre como una oportunidad en todo el condado para “Conoce Tu Calle”. ¡Es más fácil de lo que parece! Primero, elige una fecha y hora para organizar tu evento vecinal. Luego, pasa por nuestra oficina y recoge un kit promocional para ayudarte a correr la voz.
Tu evento puede ser tan sencillo o tan elaborado como tú quieras. El único límite es tu tiempo, tus recursos y tu imaginación.
Para un evento sencillo, coloca algunas sillas frente a tu casa e invita a tus vecinos a traer su propia bebida para conocerse y convivir de manera informal. ¿Quieres hacer algo más grande? Organiza una comida compartida en el patio de alguien o en un parque del vecindario.
