The Santa Paula Police Department is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner from 5–7 p.m. on April 19 at the Santa Paula Community Center to support Doc and Raider in the K9 program! Drive-thru pickup will also be available. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased ahead at the SPPD or the SP Times at 120 Davis Street. Community members will also have an opportunity to see the dogs at the dinner!

There’s still time to drop off a donation at the Santa Paula Police Department toy drive at Veterans Park! Today until 7 p.m. the SPPD is collecting new and unwrapped toys for kiddos ages 2–13 and gift cards for youth ages 14–17. All gifts will be delivered to homes in Santa Paula. Congratulations, Sergeant Potter! We appreciate the good work you do to keep our community safe.

Behind the Badge with Sergeant Potter:
We wanted to congratulate Officer Daniel Potter on his recent promotion to Sergeant. Sergeant Potter enjoys working within a small department, especially with the small town atmosphere which has allowed him to come in contact and help individuals who he has known for years. While patrolling he recognizes the support and appreciation from the citizens of Santa Paula, which makes him proud to provide service back to them.
Sergeant Potter has worked for the Santa Paula Police Department for 19 years in a variety of roles: patrol officer, motorcycle traffic officer, senior officer, training officer, Detective in Major Crimes, and currently as a Patrol Sergeant. He specializes in field training of new officers and DUI/narcotics offenses. His goals are to continue his Law Enforcement training and education in order to teach and mentor newer officers.
Sergeant Potter grew up in Ventura, and graduated from Buena High School. He studied administration and criminal justice at CSU Chico and graduated with a BA in Public Administration with a minor in Criminal Justice. In his free time Sergeant Potter enjoys spending time with his family, snow skiing, boating, camping, hiking and cheering on the LA Dodgers and Seattle Seahawks.

El sargento Potter le gusta trabajar dentro de un departamento pequeño, especialmente con el ambiente de la pequeña ciudad que le ha permitido entrar en contacto y ayudar a las personas que ha conocido durante años. El sargento Potter ha trabajado para el Departamento de Policía de Santa Paula durante 19 años en una variedad de posiciones: oficial de patrulla, oficial de tráfico de motocicletas, oficial superior, oficial de capacitación, detective en delitos mayores y actualmente como sargento de patrulla. Se especializa en el entrenamiento de campo de nuevos oficiales y delitos de DUI / narcóticos. Sus objetivos son continuar su capacitación y educación en aplicación de la ley para enseñar y asesorar a los oficiales más nuevos.
El sargento Potter creció en Ventura, y se graduó de buena High School. Estudió administración y justicia penal en CSU Chico y se graduó con una licenciatura en Administración Pública con una especialización en Justicia Penal. En su tiempo libre, el Sargento Potter disfruta pasar tiempo con su familia, esquiar en la nieve, pasear en bote, acampar, caminar y animar a los Dodgers de Los Ángeles y los Seahawks de Seattle.
