Please see John’s highlights below regarding how to help…
Dear Troop 2 Families,
I hope that everyone is staying safe. Everyone in our area has been impacted by the fires in one way or another, and our thoughts and prayers are with the community, especially those who have lost their homes or have been displaced by the fires.
Here are a few ways Troop 2 is helping or can assist those in need:
ADOPT A SCOUT WHO LOST THEIR HOME. We have already signed up as a troop to Adopt a Scout Family and indicated we would be able to support more than one family. Below is a link if you wanted to sign up in addition to the troop.

TROOP 223 ASSISTANCE. We have been in contact with Troop 223, which has been heavily impacted by the fire. The specific requests/needs are:
IMMEDIATE
i. Apartments to rent, ideally longer term sublets. Many are staying in hotel rooms or with friends, but they will need longer term housing while they rebuild. If you have a place or are aware of a place, please send information to me so I can send it to the Troop 223 team
*we are waiting to hear from Troop 223 leadership for more details how we can specifically help their families *
Santa Monica Community College Disaster Support. They have indicated that they are accepting many different types of items (full list is at https://foundation.smc.edu/areas-to-support/smc-disaster-support.php) including clothing, baby supplies, blankets, back packs, food and hygiene products. The drop off times are Monday 1/13 9am-5pm and Tuesday 1/14 9am-5pm. VERY LIKELY they will need volunteers (might only be open to those over 18 years old currently) to help sort the items. Here is a link to volunteer:

Revive The Palisades’ Beauty: Support Replanting Fundraiser. This is an effort spearheaded by Troop 2 ASPL Nathan Hall which has already raised over $1,000.
Hello Troop 2 Families and Alumni,
One of our own Scouts, Nathan Hall, who was affected by the fires has started a Go Fund Me to assist in the rebuilding of the Palisades. As many of you know, Troop 2 has a long history of our love for the outdoors. For this reason, Nathan is working with the Troop to raise money to replant the greenery lost in the fires. After money is raised Troop 2 will purchase the necessary material to begin a replanting effort with Scouts being able to volunteer and participate. Please consider donating to the GoFundMe below. Anything helps and please stay safe.
