Today, on what would have been her birthday, we honor the life and legacy of Jessica Partida, our beloved Director of Development, who passed away in March after a private and courageous battle with cancer.

Jessica was the heart behind so much of PRESENT NOW’s community — organizing our Market Days, Give Love & Be Loved Gala, Founders Circle dinners, and countless moments of joy and connection. She poured her passion into every detail, ensuring each event uplifted the mission and the children we serve.

Although PRESENT NOW has paused programming to reimagine our future, today we pause to remember Jessica. Her grace, generosity, and belief in the healing power of giving continue to inspire us.

We miss her deeply and carry her light forward 💜🫂

This week Melanie, Erica, Sahara, and Carla dropped off Presence of Love gifts to Deana Payne, Program Director at our shelter partner Good Shepherd.

Some studies have shown that incidences of domestic violence increase around Valentine’s Day and Super Bowl weekend. The Presence of Love gifts include an age-appropriate STEAM-oriented gift to encourage and aid in learning to support the emotional recovery and well-being of children affected by domestic violence.

The Presence of Love gifts always promotes a flexible learning environment so children can pursue their education and tap into their creativity no matter where they live. All children are worthy of love, and we are proud to gift these presents each year on Valentine’s Day.
