Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) SMC Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) is a honor society/club that provides various opportunities for students to succeed academically and socially in Santa Monica College.

Its purpose is to foster, promote, maintain, and recognize excellence in scholastic achievement as well as to provide the campus and community with service-oriented activities. BEFORE Joining AGS..
- If you have been in college already, you need to have at least GPA 3.0 and 1

2 units completed; if you are recent high school graduates, you need to have at least GPA 3.5. HOW TO Join AGS.. GET YOUR APPLICATION RIGHT HERE! http://www.agssmc.org/

1 - Two TYPED pages of Application
2 - Your unofficial college transcript (you can download/print it from Corsair Connect -> Enrollment -> Student Records -> Unofficial Transcript)
3 - AS Fall 2012 Sticker (Orange sticker can be purchased at bursar's office)
4 - $10 dollars membership fee

Please these 4 to the general meetings take place on EVERY THURSDAY
- 11:15AM - 12:35PM at Science Building (SCI) ROOM 140
- 5:45PM - 6:30 PM at Art Building (ART) ROOM 214

AFTER Joining AGS..
- In order to get the Transcript Notation (which will look GREAT on your application), you need to fulfill AGS requirements:

1. Complete at least 20 hours of community service
2. Maintain GPA 3.0+
3. Join 1 Committee OR Participate in 2 Fund Raisers
4. Attend at least 1 social event and 6 general meetings
5. Do not miss more than 2 volunteer events

Today is the LAST DAY to send in your video to [email protected] for Professor Wong!

It doesn't need to be long, it can just be you sharing a funny story, what you appreciated about Wong while you were in AGS, how Wong was as a professor if you had her, or anything else you would like to share. You can even just film it off your laptop if that's easiest.

Your video will be added to all of the other videos and played at the banquet this Saturday in honor of Wong retiring so the more videos we have, the better!!

Send a video of yourself talking about Professor Wong (a memory, funny story, thank you) to [email protected] by THIS WEDNESDAY May 18th for it to be put into a video that will be played at the banquet!

IMPORTANT FOR AGS ALUMNI:

Professor Wong is retiring and AGS needs your help to make it one of the best banquets yet!

Tickets are no longer being sold at the door, so if you would like to attend the banquet you will need to email [email protected] OR [email protected] to RESERVE A SPOT BY TONIGHT.

Tickets are $35 for AGS ALUMNI and must be RESERVED through email NOW. Professor Rodas has to give a final count to the hotel and no other reservations will be accepted after today. Payments will be due upon arrival to the banquet.

Evening AGSers!

The last social is coming around this weekend! Spring 2013 AGS Banquet is happening on May 18th, a Saturday at Sheraton Delfina Hotel right here in Santa Monica! We will have games, prizes, buffet, dance, and a celebration (which means certificates for all those members who have completed 100+ hours!, due to the current situation...) Bring a guest, friends, even a girlfriend! We will be taking sign-ups this thursday in the Day and Evening Meeting, and it will still be only $35!!!!! You heard it here, normally the price should be higher but its steal, its only #35!!!

Hello AGSers!

The second AGS Social Event is coming around the corner, the AGS Hike is on April 5th, 2013 (Friday) at Topanga Canyon State Park. PBS Time: 8:00AM, the event will be from 9:00AM-12:00PM. It will be a fun hike, bring your own lunch and plenty of water. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. There is only 30 spaces available, and its FREE!

Sign-ups for AGS Hike will be take place in the Day (SCI 145 11:15-12:35PM) and Evening (ART 214 5:45-6:35PM) Meetings tomorrow.
