We’re still reflecting on the incredible conversations, connections, and community that emerged from the inaugural Fox Family Foundation Summit in Jupiter, Florida, this past week!
For the first time, Fellows, grantees, board members, community leaders, advocates, and partners came together to share ideas, build relationships, and explore how we can create a more inclusive future for blind and low-vision communities.
Throughout the summit, participants engaged in meaningful discussions around accessibility, leadership, employment, education, advocacy, and the importance of universal design, recognizing that designing for inclusion from the start creates better experiences and opportunities for everyone.
The conversations also highlighted an important reality: blindness and low vision do not exist in isolation. Many individuals within our community navigate multiple identities and co-occurring disabilities, including neurodivergence, chronic health conditions, mobility disabilities, hearing loss, mental health disabilities, and other lived experiences that shape how they engage with the world.
Through our Innovating Inclusion initiative, we continue to explore how intersectionality, lived experience, and community-driven solutions can help expand what's possible. By embracing the full diversity of our community, we can build more accessible systems, strengthen belonging, and create pathways for more people to thrive.
What made this summit so meaningful was the opportunity to learn from one another, connect across experiences, and imagine new possibilities together.
Thank you to our fellows, grantees, board members, partners, and community leaders for helping make this inaugural gathering such a memorable milestone. We're excited to continue building a future where innovation, accessibility, and inclusion go hand in hand.
