Zionism as racism... and Censorship... at home.

After disturbing reports this week of doctors returning from Palestine -about numerous reports of Israel IDF soldiers shooting children in the head - we need to think of censorship, and center on the responsibilities of MEDIA, journalists reporting (or not), of colluding in genocide & conservative politics. This unique racist gas lighting is evident in the case of the Liberated 2, the state-sanctioned brutality last Spring by Zionists on UCLA students, & other recent FALSE, fabricated & libelous accusations of "Anti-Semitism" against Chican@ & Ethnic Studies educators/leaders.

Educators in L.A. are finding themselves entangled in legal battles as they face life-changing lawsuits for their role in writing and teaching ethnic studies, specifically lessons that include Arab and Palestinian Studies, calling them “anti-Semitic” and “anti-Jewish.”

El Plan de Los Angeles (2014)

This document was collectively authored during platicas and discussions at the first two Raza Studies Now conferences in 2012 and 2014. During the struggle to defend the remarkable Raza Studies Department at Tucson, Southern California educators and student activists decided to establish Raza Studies Now in 2012 to raise consciousness about Arizona and the education imperative of building Chican@/Central American/Raza Studies courses and programs in California public schools. We held numerous Summer conferences, bringing together activist/scholar/educators. El Plan de Los Angeles was released in Summer 2014.

Our aim at the "Plan de Los Angeles: Raza Youth Liberation Conference" May 22 is to update and revise the Plan. The conference brings students up to date on the struggle, and also includes their voices and vision into this instrumental document.
