Our Meeting Recap – June 3, 2026

President Derrick kicked off the meeting and got the ball rolling. Lion Kathy opened us with an invocation with an inspiring quote from Muhammad Ali:

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth."

Next, Lion Susan proudly led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a beautiful rendition of God Bless America by Lion Linda. No recording contracts were signed, but she certainly had our attention😄.

We then welcomed our guests—Johnny, Vicky, and Nana—the lion's way, with a hearty round of roars. If they weren't awake when they arrived, they certainly were afterward😜!

Dinner was generously prepared by Jose from Teddy's Cafe. We enjoyed a delicious meal and thanked him for his great food, friendly service, and ongoing support over the years. This marked Jose's final dinner service for our meetings as we prepare to move to a new meeting location where meals will be included. Jose will be missed 🫶.

The meeting continued with club business, including Pam's report on our first-ever comedy fundraiser. The event was a success and proved that Lions 🦁 can raise money while laughing at themselves at the same time.

Before adjourning, we had the pleasure of hearing from scholarship recipient Nala Feil, who shared her high school journey and future educational plans. Her accomplishments, determination, and goals for the future were inspiring. We wish Nala all the best as she begins her next chapter.

Finally, the raffle drawing was won by Lion Kanda. In a wonderful display of generosity, he donated his winnings right back to the club ❤️.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to another enjoyable and productive evening of service, fellowship, and a few good laughs along the way.

This morning, our fellows of the Santa Monica Pacific Palisades Lions Club joined the Elks Lodge Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to pause, reflect, and honor the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We are grateful to stand alongside our community partners in paying tribute to our fallen heroes and keeping their memory alive through service, unity, and gratitude.
