This is Shree Janta Secondary School in Lahanāwhere we held both our health camps and childrenās dental camp. š³šµš
But more than that⦠this is where relationships are being built.
The children here remember us.
They look forward to our return.
One of the teachers, Mahesh, shared something that stayed with meāthat the children feel so happy inside when I greet them with a simple āNamasteā and āhello.ā
Itās such a small gesture⦠but it creates connection, trust, and belonging.
As an outsiderāa white American womanābeing welcomed into this community with such warmth is something I donāt take lightly.
These children welcomed me with curiosity, kindness, and open hearts. And in return, we are committed to continuing to show up for themānot just once, but consistently.
Because care isnāt just about treatment.
Itās about being present⦠building trust⦠and creating a future where these children feel seen, supported, and valued.
We will continue this work in this school and this communityāso these children have access to care, education, and a healthier future.
Healthcare is a human right. š
