League Boundaries
Players must live in the City of Santa Monica or south of Sunset from the ocean to Allenford. Our Divisions
T-Ball - Recommended ages 4-5 (not available during Fall)
The T-Ball league is designed to introduce the basic fundamental concepts of youth baseball in a friendly environment. By design, players hit off a baseball tee to teach the basic mechanics of hitting and introduce
the game to beginning players. All team members will play the field and bat.
5-Pitch - Recommended ages 5-6 (not available during Fall)
The 5-Pitch league is designed to introduce or reinforce the basic fundamental concepts of youth baseball in a friendly environment. By design, coaches pitch to the batters to teach the basic mechanics of hitting with live pitching. Machine Pitch - Recommended ages 7-8
The Machine Pitch (MP) league is designed to introduce or reinforce the basic fundamental concepts of youth baseball in a friendly environment. Machine Pitch is where players expand their hitting and fielding skills, and begin to focus on the rules and strategy of the game. Live pitching by umpire-operated machine (from mound located 46’ feet from home plate) is used. The entire roster bats continuously, and coaches may play as many as 11 players in the field. No scores or team standings are kept. Rookies Division - Recommended ages 8-9
The Rookies league is designed to reinforce basic fundamental concepts of youth baseball and introduce "kid-pitching" in a supportive but competitive environment. Players learn to pitch from the mound, catchers learn to catch, and batters learn to hit live pitching from their peers. Even though winning is secondary to developing skills and having fun at this level, scores are kept for each game. Team records and standings will not be kept or published; however, there will be a post season tournament. The emphasis in the Rookie division is to teach and develop skills like pitching, catching, fielding and hitting along with improving basic fundamentals. Minors - Recommended ages 9 - 10
The Minor league is designed to reinforce fundamental and advanced concepts of youth baseball in a friendly yet competitive environment with a strong emphasis on instruction and skill development. Scores are kept during each game, and standings are posted throughout the season. The post season includes a playoff tournament, concluding with a league championship game. In this division, pitchers are honing their skills as well as working on consistency and accuracy. Catchers are learning the game along with strategies. All players will work on developing and improving fielding skills in the infield and outfield, strengthening hitting technique, and increasing their situational baseball knowledge and baseball IQ. Majors - Recommended ages 11-12
The Major league is designed to reinforce fundamental and advanced concepts of youth baseball in a positive yet competitive environment with a strong emphasis on instruction and skill development. The pitching is more skilled, player development is more advanced, and position players are being taught specific techniques to further their skills. Juniors - Recommended ages 13-14
