This is a reminder of our scheduled community event tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, 2024. LCVA invites your participation in our community service initiative, commencing with coffee and snacks at 9:00 a.m. at the community center Library. Our efforts will focus on collecting trash along Entrada La Cienega, from the cattle guard to the stop sign at the bottom of the hill, followed by the procurement of heavy-duty trash bags. We will then proceed to give out trash bags to those who would like to clean up the area in front of their own homes. We believe your contribution will make a significant difference, and we look forward to your involvement.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Mark your calendars: our annual spring cleanup is on Saturday, April 18.

We will meet at the La Cienega Valley Library in th back of the La Cienega Community Center 136 Camino San Jose starting at 9:00 am and clean up Entrada La Cienega until 11am or complete. We'll have bags for clean up, and will provide pastries and coffee before we head out. Invite your neighbors and families! It will be great to see everyone and catch up. Bring a pair of gloves or picker if you have one.

In addition, it will be a free dump day at Buckman and the Caja del Rio Transfer Station April 18th so regardless of whether you make it out to help along Entrada, please clean up the area in front of your own home and any neighboring stretch of road and take advantage of the free dump day from 7 am until 1 PM!

Hello everyone,

The La Cienega Valley Library, located in the back of the La Cienega Community Center is pleased to share that they recently received their official 501(c)(3) tax exempt status! Please consider making a tax deductible donation to help us expand programming and services to La Cienega and La Cieneguilla residents.

The library now has its own website where you can check in for events. https://www.lacienegavalleylibrary.org/

We are also excited to announce new programming at the library-- current programs are noted below. The library will be expanding programming this summer and is hoping to partner with Las Golondrinas to build and curate the La Cienega/La Cieneguilla History Collection. In addition the library is in discussion with Earth Care's La Milpa Program to create talks on food justice (https://www.earthcarenm.org/lamilpa), and to separately hold a series of conversations on local history and topics, which we may be able to correlate to our History Collection

We are now accepting book donations especially children's books, local history, adult fiction or non-fiction books in spanish and recently published adult fiction or non-fiction books.

We also anticipate that the library will be able to connect its computers, printer/scanner/copier, and projector to a new wifi network and will be able to host movie nights at the library this summer.

All great news and we are hoping you all come out to visit!

Attention La Cienega Neighbors. We are pleased to announce that Teresa Martinez will be at the La Cienega Library this Sunday 2/8 from 11am to 1pm creating balloon shapes for kids free of charge. Join us before the Super Bowl festivities for some family-oriented fun. We hope you can make it.
