Thank you so much to my publisher, Yuyu Sharma, for arranging my meeting with Mou Modhubontee. Mou and her writing group graciously opened up their writing community to me during my recent trip to Canada for the book tour of my new collection of poetry titled "Scalene." Thank you to the community for sharing their poems, listening to mine, and hearing my pitch for a series influenced by my book, "Tessa: Eyes on the World." It was a joy and a privilege to be around such beautiful and thoughtful souls.

This is Ngima Dawa Tamang who lives in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are soon to be together again. Dawa had a hostel Chhahari House in Kathmandu, which was focused on young children who had lost contact with their parents by death, location, or abandonment. He, his wife, and children are some of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life.

Tessa met him when he and his wife lived at Upaya center in the early 2000s. After Tessa died, the Tessa Foundation went to Nepal to meet him and support his initiatives.

This little girl, Mary, was a baby when we first met her. She is now in Albuqurque, going to nursing school. Dawa always thought she was a reincarnation of Tessa, when Tessa's brother Devin and I stayed with them at their home. Mary who is very shy, reached her arms up so that Devin could hold her. We became devoted fast friends. Now we will be meeting again at the Himalayan book festival in Nepal at the end of May, sharing the book 'Tessa Eyes on the World' with the worldwide community.

Maricella Carrillo was a recipient and participant of Tessa Foundation. She later became a member of the Tessa Foundation team. She is pictured here with her three boys, Luke, Ernest, Xavier, and her daughter in law Jamey and baby Clover who happens to be the latest addition to the family.
Maricella is a grandmother at 40.
She was pivotal in my son Xavier’s healing as his health aide and friend. She helped us with everything and in turn we helped support her dreams supported her with children.   After all these years of successes, hardships and the immensity of life she continues to thrive as do her children.
