Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, The High Desert Hari Society is dedicated to the transmission and preservation of traditional medicine worldwide through education, networking, and community outreach. The High Desert Hari Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing unique opportunities for learning from masters of traditional medicine practices from around the w

orld. We have an ongoing offering of continuing education seminars for acupuncturists in various aspect of Traditional Japanese Medicine including acupuncture, moxibustion, bodywork and herbal medicine. Our board of directors consists of Ehrland Truitt, Predident; Rande Lucas, Vice-president; Eric Michaelsen, Secretary; John Handwerk, Acting Treasurer; Hiroki Takeda and Claudia Sheils, directors.

Meet Phil Madden—an HDHS board member and dedicated practitioner whose work is rooted in Japanese Meridian Therapy, moxa techniques, and the use of gold and silver Teishin to bring “aliveness” to each session. His practice is deeply influenced by over 30 years of Tai Qi and Qigong, which guide his unique methods of light touch palpation and energy field diagnosis.

We’re grateful to have Phil as part of our community and the wisdom he brings through both his treatments and his teaching of Qigong and life cultivation practices. 🌿
