100+ Women Who Care in Santa Fe

100+ Women Who Care in Santa Fe Women joining together to make a difference in our Santa Fe, New Mexico community since 2012.

A group of women commit to donating $100 each four times a year, or a group of two or four women can join together as a team to reach the requirement by donating either $50 or $25 each time. The group meets quarterly, checkbooks in hand, to decide the beneficiary. Any Santa Fe nonprofit is eligible; the process of choosing the charity begins with members placing their anonymous suggestions in “the

hat.” Three are chosen at random. At which point, the member who nominated the drawn charity gives a brief explanation of why she chose it. The membership then votes, a beneficiary is selected, and $100 checks are written. At the following meeting, a representative from the winning charity tells the group how the money was spent.

Thank you to those members who came to our quarterly meeting for 100 Women Who Care Santa Fe on Wednesday.

Thank you Scottish Rite Temple for hosting us. We couldn’t do this without you!

We had a great meeting with about 70 people in attendance including members, guests, and three new women who joined!

We heard from last quarter’s winner, Reading Quest on how they used our donations. Then we heard wonderful presentations from the three nominated organizations which are all doing great work in Santa Fe…Las Cumbres Community Services, Santa Fe Alliance for Science, and Girls Inc. of Santa Fe.

And, the nominee that received the most votes by a very close margin was (drumroll please)…Las Cumbres Community Services 🥳

The mission of Las Cumbres is to provide quality services, public awareness, and integrated community support for children, adults, and families facing social, emotional, and/or developmental challenges.

For immigrants, Las Cumbres provides a multitude of services including housing, job placement, children’s support services in schools and more. Their staff speaks 20 different languages.

Their work right now is more important than ever and we’re thrilled we can help them.

If you were unable to attend the meeting, please make out your check to Las Cumbres Community Services and mail it to Katie Rountree, who is collecting the checks. If you need here address, email us through our website.

Thank you for being a part of 100 Women Who Care.

A special THANK YOU to our Business Sponsor, Emily Garcia with Sotheby’s International Realty.

Together we are making a difference in our community.

PS our next meeting will be in August 2025, date to be determined. Stay tuned.
