IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

✴ Breakthrough Santa Fe has just received a $2.5 million gift to spend over 10 years to start TWO amazing new programs! ✴

Starting THIS spring (looking at you, Class of 2023!), Breakthrough will offer 8-10 scholarships to Breakthrough seniors and alumni attending a four-year in-state university. The scholarship covers up to $8,000 and can be used toward room and board, books, transportation, etc.

In the fall, Breakthrough will also open 529 College Savings Plans for all students who complete 7th and 8th grade. All accounts will start with $1,000 and students and families can contribute to their college savings over the next four years of high school.

We are grateful for these two wonderful opportunities to expand our college access programming to all our students. Go, Breakthrough!

✴ ¡Breakthrough Santa Fe ha recibido una donación de $2.5 millones para empezar DOS programas nuevos por 10 años! ✴

Empezando ESTA primavera, Breakthrough ofrecerá 8-10 becas para estudiantes del grado 12 y alumnos asistiendo a la universidad de cuatro años en el estado. Esta beca cubrirá hasta $8,000 y se puede usar para los costos de habitación y comida, libros, transportación, etc.

En otoño, Breakthrough abrirá planes de ahorro para la universidad para cada estudiante que complete los grados 7 y 8. Cada cuenta empezará con $1,000 y nuestras familias y estudiantes pueden contribuir a sus cuentas de ahorros universitarios por los 4 años de la prepa.

Two Fridays ago we held Career Day! Our wonderful community had a few workshops in which they taught our middle schoolers about fire prevention, what it takes to become a lawyer, how to run PR for a company, what historic preservation is?, or climate change activism to name a few! Which all ended with our tradition of the fire hose spray down on the field!

Hace dos Viernes tuvimos el ¡dia de las carreras! Nuestra comunidad espectacular tuvieron talleres donde nuestros estudiantes del octavo y séptimo aprendieron sobre: como prevenir incendios, como se puede hacer abogado?, cómo hacer relaciones públicas para una empresa, que es la preservación histórica?, y activismo de cambio climático ¡Todo concluyó con nuestra regadera de los bomberos sobre el campobomeros sobre el camp

Last Friday we went up to the ski basin for Outdoor Adventure Day! Our middle schoolers hiked and explored and scavenged for some high alpine pineapples!

El Viernes pasado subimos a la estación de esquí para nuestro ¡Dia de aventura al aire libre! Nuestros estudiantes del séptimo y octavo grado caminaron, exploraron, y buscaron piñas de pino alto!

Saturday was a a busy day for BT! We had our first Super Saturday of the year with a middle school workshop facilitated by the fabulous Santa Fe Council on International Relations, CB mentorship for 9th grade, new tutor training, AND a college application workshop with an admissions rep from Brown University! Thanks to all the teachers, mentors, and volunteers who made it happen!
