Across our state, communities are confronting continued oil and gas expansion alongside a growing wave of projects being marketed as solutions to the climate crisis – carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, nuclear development, uranium mining, data centers, pipelines, and other forms of extractive development. Too often, these projects continue the same patterns of land theft, pollution, water exploitation, and corporate control that have shaped New Mexico for generations. Climate Week is an opportunity to bring New Mexico’s experiences, resistance, and solutions into national and international climate conversations.
