Residents of the Agape House homeless shelter were moved Wednesday to the former Warehouse 21 teen center building in the Santa Fe Railyard following the discovery of a bedbug infestation at the city-owned shelter on Cerrillos Road.

The temporary shelter at the city's vacant Railyard building, 1614 Paseo de Peralta, will function similarly to the "code blue" shelter the city established at the site for freezing winter nights.

This time "it'll be 'code bug' instead of code blue," city spokesperson Peter Olson said Wednesday.

Okey dokey then. Bugs could dance a few nights in the former concert hall. Hopefully this issue will be resolved quickly.

W21 has been conducting workshops, sponsorships and supporting young artists since we moved out of the Railyard building in January 2020.

We serve Elementary to high school youth.

We have some exciting projects coming up and have already done several since July.

Recently, we did a project with Wood Gormley Elementary School due to their 100th anniversary this year. Thank you to Roni Rohr the art teacher who worked with 150 students.

Students ranging from K-6 did a THANK YOU card project as a way of giving back to our firefighters in Santa Fe for their work in our community and working on forest fires.

150 cards were distributed to many local fire stations.
