Eldorado Arts & Crafts Association The non-profit association has grown to over 200 members in recent years, and provides monthly educational meetings and Shop Talks.

Our main events throughout the year are the Eldorado Studio Tour each May, the largest tour in New Mexico; and the Fall Show in late October. New members are always welcome.

TODAYS the DAY!!! 63 Studios are waiting to be discovered in Eldorado at Santa Fe! Come see 107 artists and their work from 10am-5pm . Stop by the Preview Gallery ( 1 Hacienda Loop Santa Fe, NM 87508) at the Eldorado Community Center to see a sample of each artist's work. Then, follow the map to the artists you want to see and visit.

Studio #63: Janelle Urata, Wearable Art.
Janelle, a San Diego native, studied and worked in San Francisco as a researcher and dental hygienist and continues to work full-time in research. Outside of her professional work, she spends time with ceramics and braiding as a way to engage her hands and step away from the computer. Her background in dental hygiene has shaped the attention to detail present in her work. She first encountered ceramics in the Bay Area and now works out of Baca Street Pottery in Santa Fe. A fourth-generation Japanese American, Janelle approaches Kumihimo as a way to explore and stay connected to her cultural heritage.

Studio #62: Jenifer Strachan, Mixed Media. From the first crack of a plate, I had found my medium. Ceramic shards arranged in a painterly fashion illustrate the natural world as I envision it. Being a self-taught artist, I continually learn as I go along. The spontaneity of my approach to pique-assiette mosaics, or "stolen from dishes," has attracted a wide variety of commissions over the years. From reflecting pools at Cheekwood Botanical Garden to a sea of mosaic whales at the Martha's Vineyard Museum. Workshops as the first visiting artist to The Studios Key West. Custom created allegorical wall murals and back splashes to portraiture of loved ones, feline or otherwise.

Studio #61: Arlene Siegel, Sculpture. Arlene has been teaching sculpture for over 60 years, in FL, MI, and the Chicago area. She studied pottery, life drawing and sculpture while living in England and attended a workshop at the South Florida museum with Bruno Lucchesi. She continues to work and teach in Santa Fe, NM. Her work is primarily sculpting the human form, concentrating on facial expression. She has received many commissions in the form of portraits and awards, and has sold hundreds of how-to videos.

Studio #59: Greg Cohen, Painting. I’m a self-taught acrylic painter who also explores visual art in photography. In addition, I’m a published novelist with multiple novels at Amazon, as well as a musician. These multiple disciplines all work in concert, supporting and inspiring each of my creative endeavors. My original paintings range from figurative to whimsical, and depict a variety of subjects, but my goal is always that they make you smile. My photographs from my travels around the globe aim to capture “the decisive moment”.

Studio #59: Debbie Doyle, Ceramics. I’ve been playing in clay since high school, but since retiring in 2017, I started challenging myself with larger and more realistic sculptures. Moving to Santa Fe last year has inspired me to find my vision as an artist and create work that is meaningful as well as beautiful. So now I work in clay, this marvelous medium the earth provides, my hands shape, and fire transforms into a lasting work of art.

Studio #58: Laura Drew, Mixed Media. Laura Drew is a self taught beeswax painter. Now in Santa Fe but spent most of her life in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Much of her of work is inspired by nature. This form of painting is also called Encaustic. I can use many other mediums with it as long as the layers are fused together with a torch. It is difficult to control where it flows and it makes Laura to not take her art too seriously.
