Eldorado Arts & Crafts Association The non-profit association has grown to over 200 members in recent years, and provides monthly educational meetings and Shop Talks.

Our main events throughout the year are the Eldorado Studio Tour each May, the largest tour in New Mexico; and the Fall Show in late October. New members are always welcome.

Studio #45: Randale Sechrest, Wearable Art. Everyday objects should be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. One of the oldest everyday objects used by humans is the knife. I try to create knives using modern techniques that strive to meet the twin goals of beauty and function - a beautiful knife lies somewhere between a tool and a piece of jewelry.

Studio # 45: Marilynn Jennings, Painting. Marilynn Jennings is a multi-media artist working in painting, printmaking and fused glass. She finds her abstract designs translate to all three mediums. Her inspiration comes from imagery and feelings revealed in dreams, the beauty and rhythm of nature, and from her background in Myth and Jungian psychology. She often combines hand created collage papers through printmaking to compose unique pieces. Her colorful oil figurative and landscape paintings combine the use of cold wax to create a depth and texture. Marilynn's art has been featured in numerous galleries and periodicals throughout her 30+ years professional career.

Studio # 45: Marilynn Jennings, Glass. Marilynn Jennings is a multi-media abstract artist working in painting, printmaking and fused glass. She is inspired by the potential of fused glass as a contemporary art form with its translucency, colors and versatility that bridges the functional and the sculptural. She creates functional dish ware, garden art and jewelry. Marilynn combines unique techniques with fused glass designs for one of a kind pendants and functional ware. Her metal and glass designs are a statement in the garden.

Her work features nerikomi, the Japanese technique of creating designs through layers of colored clay. Her pieces are designed to bring beauty into daily life. Based in Santa Fe, Gretchen spends her winters in Borrego Springs, California, where she works at a community studio. She shares her knowledge of ceramics by teaching pottery classes to adults. Studio #44: Greg Salvo, Woodwork. Greg Salvo, "the Wood Whisperer", is focused on usable art that brings smiles to everyday life. Using live edge hardwoods with turquoise and silver inlays results in unique one of a kind pieces. Cutting boards, charcuterie boards, coffee and end tables are seen and used every day. Stduio #43: Linda and Kipp Bentley, Fibers. Weavers Linda and Kipp Bentley produce one-of-a-kind wool rugs from their Eldorado studio. Using the traditional rag rug technique common to their Midwestern roots, they weave on stand-up Rio Grande walking-looms native to the Southwest, carrying on a familiar craft tradition with a distinct style.

Studio #40: John Segell, Ceramics. ​John Segell, a Santa Fe potter, received a BFA in Ceramics from University of Wisconsin, studying for four years under Don Reitz. He was also fortunate to be able to participate in summer workshops with Warren MacKenzie at the University of Minnesota. After moving to Santa Fe in 1980 and raising a family, John continued his enthusiasm for ceramics continuing to throw pots - to the benefit of friends and family, while working in the hospitality industry. Now retired, he is focused on renewing his love of clay, working full time in his studio, and firing in his own hand-built sprung arch kiln. John crafts decorative and functional high-temperature stoneware. A current member of Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association, he is happily exploring new avenues as a potter.
