High sulfate levels in your water supply can become more common as water levels drop due to drought. When your livestock's water has high sulfate levels, it can cause brain disease, which is often fatal and reduced mineral absorption, such as copper and selenium. Testing your water supply can save your livestock. Certain areas of the southwest have higher sulfate levels in the ground. Always check if you are in such an area and take the proper steps to ensure your operation isn't affected.

We understand that with hay prices soaring, water restrictions tightening, and grass growing slowly, it will be tempting to leave your livestock to graze in the same area for as long as possible, but by doing this, you are jeopardizing your grazing opportunities later on. Do not panic and consider the future as you graze.
