May Recap ☀️

What a blooming month to grow and be outside.

On May 27th, we held a Native Men’s Gathering with Tewa Roots Society. This gathering was sacred as they visited Pecos Pueblo, known as P`ǽ kilâ in the Towa language. They spent the day sharing stories, reconnecting to the land, and learning from one another. These gatherings focus on mental and spiritual health for our Native Men. Thank you to Tewa Roots Society and we hope to see you at the next gathering.

We are continuing our regular bi-weekly Native Community Food Distributions - making sure neighbors and families have access to the food and support they need. On May 6th, we held our Mother’s Day Gift Giveaway of personal care items and gift cards. Thank you to the Department of Health Overdose Prevention Team for volunteering their time to give back to the community and to learn from one another. We kicked off our Voter Engagement events and gave away “Indigenous Votes Matter” t-shirts at the May 22nd food distribution.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared space, learned, created, and supported our work. We’re grateful to serve such an amazing community, stay tuned for what’s ahead!

Strength and Empowering our Community: Indigenous Harm Reduction

We partnered with Heart to Heart to conduct a survey. Heart to Heart Experiential Services is requesting your voice to talk about the Indigenous harm reduction practices. With the information collected, we’re creating a program day that encourages Indigenous community, supports for healing using Indigenous harm reduction practices. We invite you to complete our survey and learn more about our upcoming program day. All survey participants (14 & up) will be entered into a raffle ($50 Visa gift card incentive).

Share your expertise to empower your family and community.

We welcome individuals interested in family reunification, recovery, or connecting with indigenous communities during healing from substance misuse, as well as community members focused on harm reduction.

Participants will engage in hands-on activities that promote a caring and compassionate community.
