We just got word that Miss Molly slept good last night 💤

Molly is home! We know a lot of you were invested in her safety 🐾 Yesterday Molly's owner contacted us about a sighting in the mesa & then mentioned to us today that Molly had shown up on her home ring camera several times late last night. She lingered for a bit, whimpering & scratching at the side yard gate. Since she found her way home we were confident she'd be back & wagered she'd show up earlier so we went out after work to set out the trap & camera to condition and see what she does. We tied the trap door open to see if we could get her coming in & watch her behavior for any stretching or resistance to determine if we'd need the missy trap. We advised to leave the side gate open and by the time we got home guess who showed up! Molly sniffed the trap, circled the car & made her way through the open gate into the backyard & was whimpering at the back door. After almost a month, welcome home Miss Molly 🙏

The week before we left on vacation we were called to help secure Sorrell, a sanctuary cat that had escaped her catio when a door didn't latch, 11 days prior. Sorrell had been on the property for 6 years so wasn't totally unfamiliar with the area, but being in the wild was definitely confusing for her. The property owner was leaving food out but wasn't certain it was Sorrell eating so the day before we left we got a camera out to watch. About an hour & a half later, our target peeked out from under the catio & several minutes later made her way to the food & continued like clockwork for the next few days. Since we were not returning for another 5 days, the property owner set out a wire crate to start conditioning. Sorrell had previously been trapped so conditioning was necessary since by this time she'd already been out 16 days. That evening Sorrell made her way to the crate but was hesitant to reach in for the 'cat crack'. The next day a smorgasbord was set out for her just outside the crate & she approached that evening, even reached in for the 'cat crack'. She was really active that day, getting more comfortable making her appearance. Two days later the smorgasbord was moved further in the crate, we got 3 paws in & we were on our way home. Early yesterday morning the food was moved all the way to the back of the crate, we got all paws in & a turnaround inside the crate. Sunday afternoon we got the 4ft trap out there, set the food half way in & tied the door open to condition. Several hours later Sorrell showed up & with little hesitation walked in to eat. Later that evening the food was moved all the way to the back of the trap & Sorrell showed up a few hours later to eat. She was ready but having been trapped before we didn't want to take any chances so we opted for the reliable electronic ray tripper instead on the trip plate. Yesterday morning we went out & installed the electronics. We have found that the added equipment sometimes hinders the momentum so all we could do was watch & see what happened. It took Sorrell a little over an hour to make several appearances to sniff the contraption until she couldn't resist & made her way in to save herself. Her 22 day adventure was over. Whew. She was happy to be back in her catio & apparently more vocal than ever. She had a lot to say🐈 Thank you CARMA - Companion Animal Rescue & Medical Assistance for your trust & support 🙏

Today when we picked up Mikey from Beast & Nugget’s Doggy Day Care we took some much needed food for the foster dogs that are there, including Johnny & June who are still looking for a safe secure place to land 🐾
If anybody is a Costco member & wants to drop off a bag or two or a case or two of canned food at B&N, or wants to drop off with us we can take it, or wants to have it delivered from the nearest Costco on Coors, the amazing folks at B&N would appreciate it beyond 🙏
