Railyard Park Conservancy

Railyard Park Conservancy The Railyard Park Conservancy was originally a program under the nonprofit Trust for Public Land. With us, discover your place in the Railyard Park!

The Railyard Park Conservancy's mission is to provide community stewardship and advocacy for the care, educational programming, and public art in the Railyard Park and Plaza. The Railyard Park Conservancy is a local organization working in partnership with the City of Santa Fe in a unique care, conservation and education effort to encourage residents to actively participate in our newest and large

st city park and adjacent community plaza. The Railyard Park Conservancy serve as the community ‘friends of’ group of the Railyard Park + Plaza in Santa Fe. The Railyard Park Conservancy is modeled after such successful stewardship groups as New York’s Central Park Conservancy. The Railyard Park Conservancy support the City of Santa Fe’s regular park maintenance by providing specialized care of the park’s ornamental gardens; coordinating extensive community outreach programs; and maintaining ongoing oversight of the park’s horticultural programs and design.

How do you make a mud pie? First you need the water, then you need the sand, mix it all together and throw it in a pan!

Our outdoor play area comes equipped with all the buckets, sifters, molds and spoons needed to make as many wonderful mud, sand, and water filled experiments as you can dream up. All you need to bring is the spirit, imagination, and joy!

If you don’t like playing with sand and mud, we will have plenty of water to splash around in. With our first Sand play Saturday approaching, you could say we are “splashing down” the days until this coming weekend, June 6th.

Join us every Saturday through August 29th*

The Railyard Park Conservancy’s Railyard Art Project is thrilled to join with the Abstract Picnic Collective to celebrate their “Life’s a Picnic!” mural, on exhibit in Santa Fe’s Railyard park until September 20th. Bring your blankets, and a dish to share, to the park’s Performance Lawn for a family-friendly, potluck style community picnic featuring:

· Drinks · Snacks · Live Music by Shaggy Peak Social Club · Solar Printing · Soap Bubbles · Hula Hooping · Tarot

Drawing inspiration from the deeply embedded cultural ritual of the picnic, “Life’s a Picnic!” uses the act of gathering outdoors as a metaphor for life itself: preparation meeting spontaneity, hospitality blending with joy, and community taking shape through shared presence. The mural’s playful imagery and layered historical art references celebrate conviviality, imagination, and the creative energy that emerges when people come together.

This project is supported by the City of Santa Fe Arts & Culture Commission.
