Free Flow NM What would it look like for New Mexico to be period-poverty-free? We are working on it!

Free Flow NM (501c3) is dedicated to combating period poverty and menstruation stigma through six key programs focused on distribution and education in Northern NM.

I have an updated reusable period underwear and pad care video for you all!

Did you know that using hot and even warm water on reusable pads and underwear can alter the structure of the lining leading to leaks?

Also rinsing menstrual blood with hot water can cook the protein of the blood into the fabric causing stains!

If you didn’t know well now you do :) I had to share the update after a follower notified me in my last video that I had been caring for my own products wrong… yikes. But also fun fact I never tried reusable products until Free Flow helped get me some products about 8 months so I guess we can all learn together:)

Anyways, reusable period products are a great way to reduce waste, easy to care for, and are FREE of charge through Free Flow New Mexico’s Reusable product program. If you’re interested in the program please email [email protected] for more information.

We join our communities in grieving for the loss of a beautiful human being, Juniper Blessing.

Juniper's life was filled with love, creativity, and the courage to be themselves as a trans woman. Their family shared this:

We will be at the BDNC Women's Health Event May 16th from 10am-1pm along side 30 other organizations. We have 500 period kits to distribute at the event!! Each kit contains a one month supply of period products including regular tampons, super tampons, maxi pads, regular pads, and liners. This is a family friendly event so come on out!

That’s a wrap on the Hygiene Drive! Thank you to everyone who donated to the hygiene drive for Lobo Food Panty!! Free Flow NM donated 500 period kits, monetary donations were made, volunteers showed up, and there were some products purchased from the Amazon wishlist!! As a UNM Student myself, thanks for showing up for my community❤️
