If you have ever been to see an eye doctor, you fondly remember answering “Option one… or two”. The device you do that with is called a Phoropter- and it is how we can refine your prescription to exactly what you need.

Most mobile vision clinics do not bring these along, relying on a machine called an auto refractor to provide prescriptions for glasses. While this machine is close, it is not always perfect. But we know how important getting your glasses right is, so we ordered a portable stand so that we can take our phoropter with us anywhere we go!

As it goes in nonprofit work, this week we met an obstacle. Unfortunately the equipment needed to set this up will not be arriving in time for our mobile clinics this week. But no need to worry- our Clinical Director Kate built us a portable stand that can be secured anywhere!

This is just one of the ways our team is dedicated to making sure nothing stops us from proving the highest level of care to our patients. See you in a few days Clayton and Raton!

Because of the overwhelming community response and need, Villa Therese On The Go will be EXTENDING our stay in Raton!

While appointments for Thursday, May 14th are already FULLY BOOKED, we are now opening an additional clinic day on SATURDAY, MAY 16th, 2026 to provide even more free medical and vision appointments to the community.

Please see the updated flyer for details. Spots are expected to fill VERY quickly, so sign up as soon as possible!
