Causandra Dukepoo is a jewelry artist from Taos, New Mexico, specializing in fine cobble inlay using high quality stones. Causandra and her late husband, Michael (Hopi/Yaqui), both learned from Michael’s father, the renowned jeweler Na Na Ping. The Dukepoos quickly received recognition for their beautiful work early in their career, well-known for their excellent choice of stones and unique and delicate inlay technique. Since Michael’s passing, Causandra continues to make the incredible jewelry they were known for. Each piece is delicately crafted using only natural and high-quality stones, ensuring it will last a lifetime. New Arrival: Fazeek
Fazeek is a contemporary homeware brand from Melbourne, Australia. Founded in 2017 by multi-disciplined designer Jackie Fazekas, Fazeek creates hand-crafted ethical products. New to MNMF Shops are Fazeek’s line of geometric borosilicate glassware. Borosilicate glassware is most often used in laboratory glassware because of its high thermal shock resistance and low coefficient of thermal expansion—meaning these glass pieces can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking. Shop Fazeek’s collection of vases, platters, carafes, and teapots online or in-person at the George Duncan and Sheryl Kelsey Shop at Vladem Contemporary.

This week we are spotlighting all things made in Mexico! The Lynn Godfrey Brown Shop at the Museum of International Folk Art and the Spiegelberg Shop at the New Mexico History Museum both have some fabulous handmade ceramics and glassware pieces, like iconic Talavera dishware from Puebla. The Talavera style was initially brought to Mexico in the 1500s, named after the Spanish city of Talavera de la Reina. However, the technique was introduced to the Spanish via the Moors as well as through transpacific trade that extended in the Far East. What resulted in Puebla, Mexico was a style of pottery that fused Indigenous, Asian, Arab, and European ceramic traditions. Talavera poblana, the distinct white and blue style, was modeled off of Chinese porcelain circulating in trade routes via the Spanish colony of the Philippines. While these ceramic pieces have an ancient history, our selection has been modernized and are all dishwasher and microwave safe!

"African American artists have made monumental contributions to the world of art, producing an influential body of work informed by the Black experience. Celebrated here is the art of Emma Amos, Grafton Tyler Brown, Keshida Layone, Loïs Mailou Jones, Whitfield Lovell, Dominique Ramsey, Charles White, Laura James, Charles Ethan Porter, Romare Bearden, Laura Wheeler Waring, and Aaron Douglas—some of whom are very well known and others who aren’t but should be. Working in diverse styles, techniques, and media, many of these artists have created memorable images laced with social commentary, cultural affirmation, myth and history, and simple love for people in all their beauty, folly, and nobility. Others have discarded the constraints of representational imagery for a semi-abstracted language that challenges viewers to consider the familiar and the unknown from new perspectives. Twelve superb works of art have been selected for this calendar."

Moussa Albaka is a Tuareg tribesman from Niger, in West Africa. For many generations, his family, of the Inadan class, has been involved in silversmithing, as well as camel caravan trading throughout the Sahara. We’re proud to showcase a number of pieces from Albaka and his family available online and at the Lynn Godfrey Brown Shop at the Museum of International Folk Art. These necklaces, cuffs, and earrings feature traditional designs and are handmade of 95% silver. The lost wax process is used, and the techniques of decoration are engraving, repoussé, and inlay with semi-precious stones and ebony wood. Moussa has collaborated with several well-known designers and has won the UNESCO award for artistic excellence with his work.

Shop our collection of show-stopping jewelry from Albaka online or visit the Lynn Godfrey Brown Shop at the Museum of International Folk Art to shop the full collection in-person.

Harris Shop at the New Mexico Museum of Art, Spiegelberg Shop at the New Mexico History Museum, Colleen Cloney Duncan Shop at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, and Lynn Godfrey Brown Shop at the Museum of International Folk Art.

Early in his career, Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) lived in Chicago and spent time in rural Indiana, New England, and New York, but he found his true home in New Mexico. He moved to Santa Fe in 1918 and spent the rest of his life there. The burgeoning but already-thriving arts community of Santa Fe welcomed the successful printmaker. The invigorating influences of other European and American artists new to the area, along with Native American potters and water-color painters, inspired Baumann to produce a wealth of woodblock prints depicting the south-western landscape, its people, and their rituals.

Close ups from our 2025 B. Kliban: Mini Wall Cat Calendar available online and at the Lynn Godfrey Brown Shop at the Museum of International Folk Art and at the Spiegelberg Shop at the New Mexico History Museum.

The Cats of B. “Hap” Kliban’s imagination have been delighting children and adults since the publication of Catin 1975. And why not? The timeless Cat, often wearing signature red tennis shoes, lives in a world of adventure that real cats, and their people, can only dream about. Kliban (American, 1935–1990) spent most of his art career in the San Francisco Bay Area. He sold his work to Pl***oy magazine, which helped establish him as one of America’s top cartoonists. He also sold cartoons to theNew Yorker, National Lampoon, Esquire, and Punch. Kliban pioneered a new genre of single-panel adult cartoons and published several humor books in addition to his Cat creations. His body of work continues to inspire artists today.
