Dear Friends,
Sometimes a rescue begins in an unexpected place.

Two older mares — Lady and Rosebud — were discovered at a property just two miles from the C**T ranch, still waiting at the door for the owner who had passed away years earlier.

With their caretaker overwhelmed and the mares unable to load into a trailer, our team walked them the full two miles home, slowly and patiently, through traffic, barking dogs, and every uncertainty along the way.

Now at C**T, Rosebud is receiving treatment for pneumonia, and Lady is learning what it means to trust humans. Both will need time, veterinary care, and gentle, consistent relational work to feel safe again.

We call them the “Breadcrumbs” — because one small thing after another led them to us!

Now, they’re home.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share more about their journey and what it will take to support their healing. For now, we simply want you to meet them — and to feel the quiet miracle of how they arrived.

Often, the horses help us see ourselves in a revitalizing way.
