⭐️ What a turnout for our Friendsgiving Celebration last week at ! The room was packed with new and familiar faces, all gathered to celebrate a banner year for our organization. The food, drinks, and live music by Glorieta Pines made for an incredible evening.

🙌 We were thrilled to recognize and thank our many donors, volunteers, community partners, event sponsors, and participants. We were also excited to welcome our two newest board members, Dena Kennett and Rajah Bose, and to extend our deep appreciation to our departing operations manager, Lila Pickus.

🏠 This year, our ReVISION Series traced how the Santa Fe Style has evolved—showing how the city once used history to imagine its future, invent new forms, and reshape its built environment to meet big challenges. As we confront the housing crisis and undertake the first general plan and zoning update in nearly thirty years, it’s crucial to revive this optimism and demonstrate how design and preservation can help shape a better future. Look for more engaging talks, tours, discussions, and other Friends events in the new year.

Phase 1 of the Land Development Code update is being introduced to the Governing Body today with public comment being heard TOMORROW (Oct 9)!

We need your help showing support for the Increasing Affordability Incentives in this phase.

The Increasing Affordability Incentives (also knowns as Creating Affordability Now, CAN), have the potential to significantly support the construction of more affordable housing in Santa Fe.

What is CAN:
CAN seeks to expedite deeply affordable housing through a robust set of incentives:
* Density Bonuses
* Dimensional Flexibility and Fee Waivers
* Administrative Review
These are designed to address regulatory and financial barriers that currently hinder the construction of more affordable units.

To meaningfully increase housing supply, they must be implemented as a package. It is critical that we encourage the Governing Body to pass the incentives as written without amendments!

Join us tomorrow at City Hall (200 Lincoln Ave) at 7pm to show your support.

In mid-July, a coalition of partners advocating for the future of affordable housing in Santa Fe announced Protect, Invest, Permit: A Housing Platform for Santa Fe’s Future. We are proud to co-author the platform alongside , .habitat, , , , , , , and others.

The platform outlines urgent, actionable steps to address the legal, regulatory, and implementation barriers that are driving up housing costs across all types of development in Santa Fe. We are calling on all mayoral and city council candidates to commit to delivering on these priorities.

Read more about the initiative in our latest newsletter and on the platform’s website, linked in our bio.
