Today, we remember the longtime Santa Fe musician and music educator, Richard Snider, on his birthday. Richard passed away in August 2025, but his impact on thousands of musicians in our state during his 28 years teaching in Santa Fe lives on. In 2002, he was inducted into the New Mexico Music Educator’s Hall of Fame, and he led three ensembles at The Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association, in addition to other numerous achievements. Most of all, he was a fierce advocate for music education, music teachers, and students in our community. He inspired our students and mentored many of our current Symphony educators. Richard - you are missed! Sending your family our love and gratitude.
