Vital Spaces

Vital Spaces Beyond this focus, we wish to be inclusive of artists of all ages, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and countries of origin.

Vital Spaces is a Santa Fe-based 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to sustain and enhance Santa Fe's cultural vibrancy by creating affordable spaces for artists working in all media to create, present, connect, and teach. We aim to support BIPOC artists, a population whose work has historically been underrepresented in contemporary art spaces in Santa Fe, as well as artists of all backgrounds

whose socioeconomic status makes it difficult to maintain an artistic practice here. Our vision is a city in which people of all backgrounds have access to space for creating and showing their work. We operate on the principles of inclusion, equity, openness, and community engagement. As much as we want to promote diverse individuals, we also want to support diverse forms of artistic expression and thought including but not limited to performance, installation art, mixed media, the literary arts, and music. We hope to provide spaces where artists can push boundaries without having to focus on the marketability of their work. By providing affordable space, we aim to provide a venue for artists who might not otherwise know one another to come together in community and collaboration. We work to share this collaborative energy with the broader Santa Fe public through discussions, workshops, performance, and interactive art projects.

Time to sign up for summer camps!!

Vital Spaces’ Summer Camp programs offer creative, empowering experiences for Black and Bi-racial youth in Santa Fe, providing a space to explore art, music, and self-expression while building confidence and community. The Sista Circle Camp centers mentorship and leadership for girls, while our boys’ camp engages young men in healthy masculinities and parallel experiences that center creativity and personal growth. These are fun, dynamic and supportive environments! Huge thanks to our friends at NewMexicoWomen.Org for the support to make this program possible! ❤️

For more information please go to our website at vitalspaces.org/programs. The registration links for camps are at the bottom of our summer camps page, Pass it on!

Psst, we’re starting something…

A teen-led creative social club where young people learn content creation, storytelling, and social media strategy by working on real projects that actually get posted. Together we highlight local programs, clubs, and events happening across the city, helping teens get connected and stay in the loop!

This isn’t just a class.
It’s not a lecture.
It’s a creative team!

Members collaborate like a mini media agency, brainstorming ideas, filming, editing, writing captions, building strategy, and shaping the voice of a platform made for teens, by teens.

Along the way, participants build real-world skills in:

Video production
Editing
Social media strategy
Interviewing
Marketing and branding
Creative collaboration
Leadership
More importantly, we help shift the narrative. Instead of “There’s nothing to do,” we start asking, “Why don’t more people know what’s happening?”

This club is about creativity, connection, and youth voice. Vital Spaces provides mentorship and guidance, but the ideas and energy come from the teens themselves.

If you’re curious, creative, or just tired of hearing that there’s nothing going on here, we’d love to build this with you!
