We are sad to share news of the passing of former CSO President Don Hillman. A longtime CTA staff member and CSO President from 2009-2013, Don is fondly remembered as a gentle presence in any room and his leadership was described as decisive, thoughtful and kind. Don was respected and loved by CSO and CTA members alike, and we are all better for having him in our lives. We send our love to Don's family and loved ones. May his memory forever be a blessing.

Please join us in tipping a glass for an amazing colleague, friend, union brother and human. Rest easy, Don.

What. A. Weekend! Across the state, CSO and CTA members walked neighborhoods together and talked to voters as part of California Teachers Association's Prop. 3 Day of Action! 🚶🏾‍♀️‍➡️🚶🏼‍➡️🚶🏻‍♂️‍➡️🚶🏿‍➡️

CSO is all-in for CTA members, public schools and all students by passing Prop. 3, electing Richard Barrera and winning crucial school board races in communities from Crescent City to Calexico (and everywhere in between!)

It's six weeks to victory -- join us at an upcoming canvass near you (www.mobilize.us/cta) and let's bring this win home for our kids and our schools!

After six months of bargaining, we're excited to share that we have reached a tentative agreement on our successor contract with CTA!

The agreement will now go to the full CSO membership for a ratification vote.

All the gratitude for your solidarity during this bargain -- we're ready to continue the fight together to ensure that union values are the foundation of EVERY workplace.

How embarrassing for Indiana State Teachers Association members to read the news about ugly union busting by their union's executive director, who continues to be enabled by the ISTA Board of Directors. How sad that union leaders are siding with a bully boss over their dedicated Indiana PSO staff who fight bully principals and bad admin every day on behalf of educators in public schools across Indiana.

CSO stands with the members of Indiana Professional Staff Organization - PSO in their ongoing struggle against retaliation by Indiana State Teachers Association.

Our collective struggle for union educators, public schools and our students, families and communities is hard enough fighting corrupt politicians, religious extremists and greedy privatizers – it’s a damn shame that IPSO members also have to battle a bully boss while supporting ISTA members.
