Our coastlines are home to dynamic, highly diverse biological communities that are subject to dramatic changes due to natural phenomena and human activity. MARINe is committed to the long-term study of these rocky intertidal communities across the coast.

ShoreCast is built by the UC Santa Cruz team to map the future of California’s rocky intertidal coastlines. From sea level rise predictions to biodiversity shifts and larval connectivity, ShoreCast lets you explore how coastal ecosystems may change over time.

Powered by data from MARINe, USGS LiDAR mapping, and UCSC ocean modeling, this platform turns complex coastal science into interactive maps and visualizations for research, conservation, and management.

For the scientists, the tidepool kids, and everyone emotionally attached to the ocean. 🌊
