Tomorrow, Saturday August 8th, join us to protest the Gilroy Rodeo!!
If you have seen the recent video of a bull being abused inside the Salinas Rodeo Complex you know what happens to animals at rodeos. They need your voice. Please help us speak up for them this Saturday.
Our presence protesting the Salinas Rodeo just weeks ago made a big impact and tomorrow we hope to make the same impact for the animals in Gilroy.
Please join Little Hill Sanctuary and Santa Cruz VegFest in protest of the Gilroy Rodeo Saturday August 8th from 4:30 to 6:30pm at 2365 Dunlap Ave. in Gilroy.
We will need to be mindful to not block access to the rodeo grounds including entrances and exits in any way.
If you have or would like to make protest signs please bring them but will will also have some available for protesters.
This protest will be outdoors in the summer sun so please dress accordingly.
Just a reminder that this is a peaceful protest to share information for a positive change for the animals.
If you are not local or able to make it to the in person protest August 8th in Gilroy, California but still want to help us end rodeos you can add your signature to our petition: https://c.org/9m5fGrjZvj

And if you have not already reached out to the Salinas City Council regarding the abuse inside the Salinas Rodeo Complex on August 1st please do so now. They must hear our voices as we stand together against animal abuse. Now is the time for change.
We encourage everyone who was disturbed by the August 1st incident at the Salinas Rodeo Complex to email or call the Salinas city council members and tell them you'd like to see a reform of rodeos in Salinas.
Some words you may use: "The footage out of Salinas Rodeo this weekend was deeply disturbing. A bull rider was badly injured and then seemingly in retaliation - the bull had his chest stepped on, his ear cut with a knife, and his tail twisted by the rodeo clowns. There are proposed ordinances in NYC, Boston, Worcester, West Hollywood, Albany, and Westfield to ban cruel rodeo practices like these, in addition to electric prods, flank straps, and calf roping. Salinas should follow their lead and consider outlawing cruel instruments and practices, which would allow a better event for all participants. Rodeo Salinas has become too barbaric for public consumption."
