It still feels surreal, but the time has come….Consolidated is jumping off this amazing ride that skateboarding put us on. It’s really hard to encapsulate all of the emotions that we are going through, but we do know that we’d like to thank each and every single one of you around the world for giving us life and supporting us in so many unbelievable ways all of these years. And above all else, we’d like to thank you, Skateboarding, for bringing us all together and gifting us 30 amazing years and memories full of love, life, and laughter….you are, and always will be, the love of our life! 🛹. p.s. we hope you all come and join our Celebration of Life on April 2nd!🙏🏼🌄🔷💙. If you know, you already know. But if you don’t, these are not SB Dunks. These are BS Drunks. Consolidated has protested Nike’s place in the grassroots skateboard movement since the mid 90’s, running their famous “DON’T DO IT!” campaign during Nike’s first foray into the skate scene. Apparently, the Air Choad (yes, CHOAD) didn’t sell too well, and Nike dropped out of skateboarding... briefly.

However, in 2002, Nike SB came back harder than before. While Consolidated attempted to restart their Don’t Do It Campaign, zines refused to run them this time around. Their beef truly came to a head in 2006, when Todd Bratrud, Director of Art for Consolidated, designed the infamous “Send Help” SB Dunk highs. The colors, while simple, were undeniably the same as the Consolidated logo. While had plenty of other inspirations for the colorway, the folks at Consolidated definitely did not take this lightly—they were ready to take action.

They made their OWN shoe with the same silhouette and same colorway, and called it the BS Drunk. Emblazoned with an Andy Warhol banana in lieu of a swoosh, this cheeky middle finger to Nike SB has always been on my “would be cool to have” list... somewhat ironically, as these were made to poke fun at the first-wave SB craze and sneakerheads.

But hey, I love sneakers that tell a story, and this is a damn good one.
