Meet Lilith, the 2 year old black pittie mix! This wonderous pup is full of excitement for life and loves to show it! She is an energetic girl who loves playtime, and will need plenty of it in her future home. Lilith looooves walks, but might need a little help learning not to pull on the leash ( or just be with an adopter who can handle her strength). She has lived with another dog in her previous home, and they did well together. Here at the shelter, she has met with a few dogs, but hasn’t been super interested in playing with them. Keeping this in mind, adopters with a resident pup should do a slow introduction and a meet and greet to make sure the dogs get along! Lilith loves new people, and she loves to jump up on people to show it. Lilith would love a home that can show her the ropes of doggy manners while keeping her occupied with the appropriate enrichment and play. If you are looking for a love bug who is full of life, come meet Lilith today!

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is open to the public from 11am to 6pm every day (except county holidays) and located at 1001 Rodriguez Street at the corner of 7th Avenue in Santa Cruz, CA. Our telephone number is 831-454-7200. Last meet and greet ends at 4:30 pm. Visit our website at scanimalshelter.org or click on link in Bio.

Thank you for your support! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is an open door shelter. We will not turn away any Santa Cruz County animal in need.

- Here’s Nestle! Now 7 months old. She has basically grown up at the shelter! She is not shy and loves to be the first to greet visitors when they enter the rabbit room. Nestle is inquisitive and determined to uncover the hidden treats. A huge plus is she is litter-box trained! Come in and meet this sweet bun. She will come give you a sniff and then climb onto your lap and show you what love truly is ❤️

We recommend all adopted domestic rabbits live inside your home and given space to exercise and express their curiosity so they truly become a part of the family.

Visit our website for more info on Nestle at scanimalshelter.org or click link in bio.

Come meet Tucker and Coco tomorrow at our big adoption event happening tomorrow (Saturday, June 6th). They were surrendered by their owner and are now looking for a new home. Thanks to volunteer Dave for helping them come out of the shells.

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is joining more than 150 shelters statewide for California Adopt-a-Pet Day on Saturday, June 6. Thanks to the generosity of the ASPCA, all adoption fees will be waived for the day.

Come meet adoptable dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies, find your new companion, and help shelter animals in our community find loving homes.
