VFW Post 7263 VFW Post 7263, Capitola, California VFW welcomes all who meet our eligibility criteria.

The fundamental difference between our organization and other veterans organizations, and one in which we take great pride, is our eligibility qualifications. It's through service to this country that all our membership has earned their elite status. If you have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay, then you're eligible to join our ranks.

The VFW Department of California is committed to strengthening partnerships between VFW Posts and Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapters across the state, creating opportunities for mentorship, leadership, advocacy, and continued service.

We encourage VFW Posts to connect with their local SVA chapters and help empower the next generation of veteran leaders.🇺🇸

Major Richard Star Act needs to pass. But it needs to pass CLEAN. And it certainly cannot be passed by taking away from future veterans especially those in harm’s way currently!

They will send us to war and spend Billions in a matter of weeks… but a few Billion over 10 years is unacceptable? Make it make sense?

“For more than 125 years, the VFW has been a fearless advocate for veterans, speaking plainly when elected officials propose policies that threaten the benefits generations of service members have earned through sacrifice. Our opposition to Section 108 reflects that longstanding commitment. Veterans’ benefits are not funding sources or bargaining chips for Congress while they scrounge to score political points.” - VFW National Commander Carol Whitmore https://www.vfw.org/media-and-events/latest-releases/archives/2026/7/vfw-defends-longstanding-tradition-of-political-satire-while-opposing-cuts
