Please come and join us for our summer fundraiser at the 125-year-old St. Andrew's Church in Ben Lomond for an afternoon of music, food, and drinks. In addition to organ music of Bach, Pachelbel and Brahms, performed by Bill Visscher, Bruce Sawhill, Ethan Williams, Wolfgang Roethig, and Vlada Volkova-Moran, the program includes Sonata III for Flauto Traverso and Cembalo, by J.S. Bach, performed by Lars Johannesson (flute) and Bill Visscher (harpsichord); the Fanfare for two trumpets and organ by Frederik Magle (1977), performed by Bruce Sawhill (organ), Laura Shea-Clark and Guy Clark (trumpets); improvisation on ‘The Star-Sprangled Banner" by W. Roethig, and a sonata for viola da gamba by Carl Friedrich Abel, performed by Penny Hanna. Also featured will be the Pastyme Consort (Ursi Frei, Laura Frank, Carleton Macy, and Jeff DeMarco, recorders) and the Santa Cruz Brass Quintet (Leonard Moore, Mark Joiner, Scott Wilkinson, Charlie McDowell, and Barry Guerrero).
All proceeds from this performance go to support the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival's 2027 concert season.

Join us for an enchanting evening as Festival Artistic Director/vocalist Jörg Reddin and guest artist, renowned German Contralto, Britta Schwarz, weave an intimate setting by candlelight in the historic Calvary Episcopal Church featuring Baroque songs and arias of Händel, Bach, Mozart, and others.

Mr. Reddin has collaborated with Ms. Schwarz for many years, and we are honored to welcome her to Santa Cruz for a series of special appearances. Learn more about Britta Schwarz from her bio from a past appearance with the San Francisco Symphony.
