2nd Story Respite House Second Story Respite House is a crisis-diversion program staffed 100% by mental health peers. We are We are an alternative to traditional mental health services.

We cultivate a healing environment with peer staff and guests, making an effort to foster growth through connection. We’ve braved through discrimination and reproach, and carved paths to acceptance and prosperity. Although many of us have experienced locked facilities, incarceration, alienation, substance abuse, and other crises, our ways to wellness have differed. We value the uniqueness of the i

ndividual and the story which lies in that journey. Second Story peers focus on building mutual relationships and encouraging self-agency under the guidance of Intentional Peer Support (IPS) practices.
