Don’t Miss Out! Our Call for Workshop Proposals closes next week on June 5 ⏰

We are excited to announce the theme for the 2027 EcoFarm Conference: “Farming Like Life Depends On It.” This theme weaves together the interconnection of human health, soil health, and planetary health, inviting conversations about the ways agriculture can nourish both people and the ecosystems we depend on.

Have an idea for a workshop that speaks to this year’s theme? We would love to hear it. We encourage farmers, educators, researchers, and food system advocates to share their knowledge, stories, and ideas as we shape another inspiring conference together.

Submit your proposal today and help grow the conversation around resilient agriculture and healthy food systems at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfcKdLiMejbEh-WwrO1_01NU2jN3SmOZ0t3e3uEjDyU3Ue7cA/viewform.

Save the date for the 35th annual Hoes Down Harvest Festival on October 3, 2026! Held on a real working organic farm in the heart of Capay Valley, Hoes Down is one of Northern California’s most beloved rural traditions—a joyful celebration of music, sustainable living, hands-on learning, and community connection.

From farm tours and hands-on activities to square dancing, local organic food, and camping beneath the walnut orchard—Hoes Down is a place where transformation happens. Kids discover the magic of farm life, old friends reunite, and new generations are inspired.

Tickets go on sale August 1, 2026 and will be available online only at eco-farm.org.

Workshops are the heart of EcoFarm. Each year, we host over 50 sessions where farmers, organizers, researchers, and community members share their knowledge and expertise. From farming techniques and regulations to marketing, labor, and land stewardship, our workshops create space for meaningful conversation and learning.

For next year’s conference, we are seeking proposals for our Spanish-language workshops track. We want to continue expanding opportunities for Spanish-speaking farmers, farmworkers, and community members to share knowledge, connect, and lead conversations at the conference. If you have an idea for a Spanish-language workshop, we encourage you to submit a proposal: https://www.eco-farm.org/submit-a-proposal!

We had a fantastic time gathering earlier this week at McGrath Family Farm for the second day of our Regenerative Avocados, Citrus, and Strawberries Conference.

On Monday, we explored the growing role of regenerative agriculture in shaping the future of the region’s strawberry production through panel discussions, breakout groups, and a field walk through the farm, where we learned about cover cropping practices. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Camarillo for such a thoughtful and inspiring day on the farm.

A special thank you to all of our speakers, sponsors, and event planning committee members who made this event possible.

We look forward to continuing to learn, collaborate, and build a more resilient future for agriculture together.
