When there is lots of rain, sediments might join fast moving water. DO NOT STAND IN OR NEAR water after heavy rains. You don't want to get caught by flows like this.

Dear Hiking Friends:
Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, everyone is canceling meetings, even meetings with a few individuals. Schools are closed, markets are raided, and it is the expectation of physicians that we will have over a million infections within the next 2 weeks. It is expected that physicians, who are working in hospitals that have too few beds in ICU, too few respirators, a lack of adequate medications, will be forced to determine who will live and who will die. Preference will be given to the younger patients.
It is because of this dire prediction that the Community Hiking Club will be canceling all hikes for the remainder of March and all of April. We will begin hikes again in May IF we deem it safe to do so. Please check with our Meet-Up site, and our web site at communityhikingclub.org for covid-19 updates.
In the meantime, if you wish to continue hiking with friends, based on information I’ve received from healthcare professionals, may I suggest driving to all trail heads by yourself, staying a minimum of 6-10’ away from your friends, washing your hands with hot water and soap every time you touch any surface. Cough into your elbow or a tissue, and immediately discard the tissue. Do not touch your face (eyes, nose, mouth). Avoid crowds, such as concerts, meetings, parties, markets and other retail outlets unless absolutely necessary. Stay home and safe as much as possible.
Canceled events and self-quarantines save lives.

Stay strong and healthy,
The Community Hiking Club
