While working on the Liberty in Action Challenge Scouts from Troop 2019 - Saugus, CA toured both the William S. Hart Mansion and Fort Tejon State Park. In between the tours they worked on rank advancement including flag etiquette and fire safety. It’s a good thing too as these skills came in handy as they raised the flag over the park and felt the blast from the firing of the cannon!

Scouts from Troop 583 Castaic Ca and Troop 2019 - Saugus, CA were honored to participate in the annual Flag Day Ceremony hosted by the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379.

As part of the ceremony, Scouts conducted a respectful flag retirement, demonstrating their commitment to honoring our nation’s flag and the values it represents.

Thank you to the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379 for continuing this meaningful community tradition and for allowing our Scouts to be a part of it.

On July 25 from 7:45AM-4:00PM, the Serranos Chapter of the Order of the Arrow is hosting a Merit Badge Midway event at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Scouts from Bill Hart District, Malibu Lodge, and Western Los Angeles County Council (and beyond) are invited to participate. Scouts can take up to 4 classes, with various schedules.

Great celebration at Roundtable tonight!

Staci and Rebecca finished their Woodbadge tickets and earned their beads!

They put in the hard work, completed their goals, and helped make Scouting, Bill Hart and P494 even better along the way.

As the Gilwell Song reminds us:

🎶 “I used to be a Bobwhite…”
🎶 “I used to be an Antelope…”

…but now they’re proud Woodbadgers with beads to prove it! Congratulations to both of you.

Cole Littlefield made a flyer to leave at a few local businesses in an attempt to sell some camp cards. At the U.S Nails nail salon next to Planet Fitness, the owner Stephanie sold 16 tickets for him and we would like to thank her for the help and support of our troop.

He also placed a flyer at the cutting edge barbershop on Seco and Bouquet canyon. We sold 8 tickets there and thank the staff for their help.

A truly amazing person , Adam from the Antelope Valley Desert Divers scuba diving club saw the flyer at Cutting Edge and reached out to Cole via the troop Facebook account.

After Cole told Adam he was trying to sell cards to support his scuba certification at summer camp, Adam spoke to the diving club and yesterday presented Cole with a $500.00 donation towards his certification. We are grateful to Adam and the Desert Divers for supporting Cole. This is also a great example for our scouts that if they put in some effort and reach out to their local community there are some truly amazing people who will help support scouts.
