☀️ Our scouts volunteered their time to provide some Trail Magic to the Pacific Crest Trail thru hikers 🥾

Our pack provided some trail magic by volunteering our time to provide lunch, snacks, water, drinks, conversation and company to the Pacific Crest Trail Thru Hikers making their way from Mexico to Canada hiking 2,650 miles.

What is Trail Magic: The term “trail magic” was coined by long-distance hikers to describe an unexpected occurrence that lifts a hiker’s spirits and inspires awe or gratitude. Trail magic is typically done by volunteers called Trail Angels.

What is the Pacific Crest Trail: The Pacific Crest Trail spans 2,650 miles (4,265 kilometers) from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington. It is a National Scenic Trail. It reveals the beauty of the desert, unfolds the glaciated expanses of the Sierra Nevada, travels deep forests, and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks in the Cascade Range.

Our scouts visited at the last week and experienced how other less fortunate children live in other parts of the world. 🌎 Then our scouts and families got to participate in a food packing service activity. What a great experience.

Pack 40 May Pack Meeting taught our scouts tent skills and knot tying skills. The scouts also earned their awards for the great work in completing their adventures.

⚓️ pack 40s Annual Raingutter Regatta 🚢

This year, the scouts built their boats on site! They had pool noodles, recyclables, cardboard boxes, duct tape and more. It was so fun to see their creative sides design their boat, their building skills in the construction of their boats and applied science to see if their boats would float, go slow or fast and so much more. Amazing work scouts!

🛳️ Our Pack 40 Cub Scouts had the wonderful opportunity to stay overnight inside of the ⚓️

They had an amazing experience learning about the battleship and overnighting in the bunks!

🥾 Pack 40 enjoyed exploring the lower canyon of .rocks for our April hike! The weather was perfect and the scouts enjoyed exploring the tunnel! They made it 4 miles total! 🥾
