Single Mothers Outreach SMO empowers single parents and their children by providing hope, support, and resources so that families can become self-sustaining and thrive. Call for info!

We are a non-profit providing various services in the Santa Clarita Valley to Single Parents. We strive to produce content that is comforting, inspiring, and relevant for single parents so that they can serve their families well. We will promote events open to attend. We are sorry, but this page is not a place to promote your business or fundraising cause. All such content will be removed immediately.

& Friendly Faces Today’s Friendly Face, Luz G., our Office Administrator 🩷

Luz’s SMO story started as a member. She became a volunteer, then our Closet Manager, and today she’s the Office Administrator who keeps our daily operations running and supports our donor relations. At every step she has grown, learned, and become even more connected to our mission.

In her words, her favorite part of working here is knowing she’s helping someone and supporting mothers and families. Luz doesn’t just work at SMO, she lives what we’re all about. She’s the heartbeat of this organization, and we’re so grateful for everything she brings to our community.

Last year, our Adopt a Family program brought so much joy to local single-parent families through a variety of holiday programming. Looking back, we’re reminded of how much a community can do when it shows up together.

This Donor Friday, we’re shining a light on someone who has been behind the camera telling our story, and who has now stepped in front of it as one of our newest donors and volunteers: Tyler T. 👏

Tyler’s connection to SMO runs deep. His personal history with our cause shows his heart and his commitment to this community. He has seen our work up close, and he has chosen to give back with his time and his generosity.

Help make Halloween special for local children!

Single Mothers Outreach is accepting donations of:

🧡 Gently Used Costumes

📅 Donation Deadline: Thursday, October 15, 2026
Drop Off, Monday - Thursday 9:00AM - 11:00AM, & 1:00PM - 4:00PM.

Please ensure all donated costumes are clean and in good condition, we will not accept donations in alternative conditions.

❌ We cannot accept:
• Costumes with tears or excessive damage
• Costumes with stains
• Dirty or heavily worn costumes
• Costumes missing essential pieces

Your donation helps provide children with the opportunity to celebrate Halloween with confidence and joy.

This week, meet Nayeli, our Programs and Services Coordinator!

Nayeli first joined Single Mothers Outreach in 2023 as an intern while completing her Master’s of Social Work. Since 2025, she has made sure our members have programs and services to enjoy and grow from.

From workshops to support services, Nayeli helps bring it all together so every member has a place to learn, heal, and thrive. We’re so grateful she’s part of the SMO family!

Last Halloween, our community showed up in the best way. Costumes were donated, families picked out their favorites, and kids walked out feeling like superheroes, princesses, and everything in between. 🦸‍♂️👑

Every costume was a reminder that no child should miss out on the magic of Halloween. Thank you to everyone who gave, shared, and celebrated with us. 💜

The cost of hygiene is more than a number. It’s dignity!

For a single mom with a baby, everyday essentials like shampoo, soap, deodorant, pads, and diapers add up to $100–$125 every month, and SNAP/EBT doesn’t cover any of it. When prices keep rising, families are forced into impossible choices. 🪥
