Yesterday was one of those days of mixed emotions. We feel blessed and honored that we have the potential to put a smile on the face of a child dealing with what is likely the biggest, hardest challenge in his life. However, we are heartbroken that it is even a thing, that any child has to go through such big things. This is how we spend the money that comes into Sparkle. This box is on the way to a little boy with a brain tumor.

Despite the commercial featured on the Super Bowl which featured a child ringing the bell and Knocking Out Cancer.

Appears that the research efforts listed on their site for Knocking Out Cancer are breast cancer; colorectal cancer; lung cancer; prostate cancer; multiple myeloma and not childhood cancer.

There are an occasional child with one of these “adult” cancers but that is not the usual situation.

Pfizer is studying drugs for CML which is not one of the typical childhood leukemias like ALL or AML. There is occasional when a child is diagnosed with CML but that is a small minority of leukemia cases in children.
