SCD 2024-2025 Team Picture Party! We had a great time at our first team party of the season this past Sunday. Thanks to Mark Co for all of the great pictures! The party was also a farewell sendoff to Coach Collin Pollard who has accepted a new position as the Cal-Berkeley assistant coach. Collin was a senior in high school my first season at SCD. He was a junior national finalist and went on to become Pac 12 champion at USC. He has been coaching alongside me at SCD for the past decade. We will miss you beyond words, Collin. We love you and are so happy for you! Come back and visit often!

Pictures from our August 11th end-of-the-season team party. We had a great time with good conversation, delicious food, fun games, and an emotional celebration of our senior class (Solly Berkenwald, Victor Dang, Ava Lazovsky, Parsa Nolan, Anthony Wang, and Maddie Wong) as they head off to college! Special thanks to our grill masters, Tony Wong and Jeremiah Njoroge! Lots to celebrate! We had the best Nationals finish in our program’s history!

Yesterday was a special day for Santa Clara Diving Club as our own Raine Rutter won her 2nd national title!! Raine won the 1m 11 & under title today as well as the 3m title earlier this week. These victories have been extra sweet since she/we achieved this feat in spite of extremely challenging circumstances. I haven’t posted about this, but our home training facility was permanently closed this past January. Even with this challenge, our program has managed to not only survive, but thrive! The displaced Santa Clara aquatics programs (swim, dive, and artistic swim) have formed a foundation (santaclaraaquatics.org) to work towards raising funds to build a new facility. Go SCD!

Region 8 Championship this weekend was a huge success! Schroeder Diving Team Head Coach Todd Hill and his staff ran the best meet that we’ve ever attended! Thank you again for an amazing meet experience! First-class in every respect! Our team members won 5 events and at least 9 of our divers have advanced onto Zones. We expect even more once the remaining region meets conclude. Great performances all around. Special congrats to Region 8 SCD champions Raine Rutter (sweeping 11 & U girls), Henry Wong (sweeping 11 & U boys), and Hailey Tipton (winning 16-18 girls 3m)! Also, special thanks to Coach Collin Pollard for all of your coaching, judging, support, and enthusiasm throughout the weekend. We really appreciate you! Our divers were star-struck getting to share the pool deck with USA Diving’s inspirational National Team members Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook all weekend. Way to go Santa Clara!
