Recently, Ms. Rahima Rumana visited the Sonar Bangla Foundation Dialysis Center in Chattogram during her stay in Bangladesh. During her visit, she explored the facility, interacted with patients, and shared her heartfelt experience with us.
💬Here’s what she shared:
I had the opportunity to visit the Sonar Bangla Foundation Dialysis Center in Chattogram, and it was a deeply emotional experience for me.
This area is very familiar to me—it’s just about 20 minutes from my home, and I used to work in a clinic here 24 years ago. Seeing such a well-organized dialysis center in a place I know so well truly touched my heart. 🏥✨
I spoke with several patients who were receiving treatment during my visit. Most of them come from underprivileged backgrounds and are dealing with multiple health issues. Despite their struggles, they expressed immense gratitude for the services provided by SBF. At the same time, many of them shared their need for more financial support. Listening to their stories, it was hard to hold back my tears.
Manager Emon and Dr. Farzana kindly showed me around the center. Currently, only half of the floor is operational, and work is ongoing to make the remaining space functional. I was encouraged to see that there are plans for laboratory facilities, doctors’ chambers, and even a mammogram unit.
One of the most urgent needs I observed is the establishment of in-house laboratory services. Patients who travel long distances 2–3 times a week for dialysis have to go elsewhere for blood tests and wait for reports, which adds to their hardship.
I strongly believe that starting the laboratory facilities as soon as possible will make this center a complete one-stop solution and significantly ease the burden on patients.
I would like to sincerely encourage everyone to come forward and donate generously 🤝 so that these essential services can be launched quickly and more lives can be supported with dignity and care. ❤️
