Greene Scholars kicked off the 2026-27 Academic Year with the Welcome Back BBQ!

Scholars we're able to bond & participate in activities, while the parents were oriented to this year's program & expectations.

Parents heard from the Executive Director, Jahmal Williams, regarding finances & his vision for the future of Greene Scholars. Following Jahmal, the Chief Program Officer, Gina Hendy, discussed program requirements & expectations.

Parents then heard from the Curriculum Team, Aisha Davis & Sara Brooks, about how the curriculum is changing before being introduced to the new Curriculum Roadmap.

Parents also had the opportunity to bond in their volunteer committees and discuss the work. Greene Scholars is a parent- led organization & this is where our GREAT WORK begins!

The day ended with a family-style BBQ in the park. Thank you to all of our parents & volunteers who made this day a success!

Thank you to the San Francisco 49ers & the 49ers Foundation for inviting Greene Scholars to their Community Corner Day, designed specifically for local non-profit organizations.

We welcomed the opportunity to participate & our scholars were excited to cheer on their "hometeam heroes" on the field during training camp!

Twenty-Five Years of Scholars. This one is for the Class of 2026. 

Last month, the Greene Scholars Class of 2026 crossed the finish line.

These students walked into this program as elementary schoolers. They are leaving as STEM-confident young adults ready for the next chapter.

This is what 25 years of building something real looks like.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. We are proud of every single one of you.
